She had been called back to back to back to the league compound so often. Is this really what being an Elite 4 member is like?[break][break]

Dahlia had been paying a lot more attention to her lately...did Eva Morales say something to her? Did skyler dross or angelo vestri? illeana reyes?

So many people had begun to see the doll rip at the seam and @madeleine wasn't around to sew it back together before they noticed. [break][break]

But the Doll still followed orders like she was intended to do and so she did. She had been a lot more forgetful lately, paying less attention to idle chatter, entire conversations forgotten as soon as their had, entire days vanished. She had already forgotten why she was being summoned by dahlia but knew she had to go. [break][break]

She arrived at the lab chamber that had four walls of glass and a chair. "Dahlia? Hello?" she said as her expression soured.

IN LATE JULY, Melody Miro is summoned to the League. The excursion into "the cloud" and Necrozma's smothering of Sootopolis had delayed dangerous matters. Matters that grew and coiled like a fern within the idol's veins.[break][break]

The commissioner is quick to stand from her chair. Her Dragonite is her personal attendant, while other League personnel is stationed around the perimeter with their Pokemon.[break][break]

"melody! so good to see you." Dahlia grins, arms wide for a hug.

She froze seeing Dahlia approach her so warmly. Especially when Melody had so many emotions she couldn't explain as she could barely even recall what happen to cause such a feeling. [break][break]

She tried to reciprocate the hug but had a feeling Dahlia would be able to tell something was off with the idol. [break][break]

As dahlia took a quick glance at Melody's skin, dahlia would catch a quick little sneak peak at the dark vein, it pulsed slightly as if reacting to the sudden pressure on her body. However it sneaks away as Dahlia lets go of the Elite 4 member, like a rat returning to it's hole in the wall [break][break]

Melody raises an eyebrow but takes a seat "You're also a doctor?" she asked having no idea if dahlia was going to examine her herself. "Or are you just reporting what Illeana found in her own tests?" she asked curiously, wondering if they found something strange. She didn't understand why, but her body began to tense up as she felt an unease inside of her for some reason. But why?[break][break]

Everything was perfectly fine. [break][break]

It was always ok.

Melody stared at her dumb founded. "Huh?" did she hear incorrectly? Her hearing had been a little bit on the fritz lately but she had just been attributing it to loud music.[break][break]

"What do you mean? That's impossible? The only nihilego I've ever encountered was...katherine's? How could I have poisoning from it?"
She was extremely puzzled by all of this.. [break][break]

"What are the symptoms..?" she asked wondering what even lead to this conclusion that they suspected it. [break][break]

"No.." she said moving back slightly from Dahlia as her migraine immediately got worse upon dahlia's explanation. "There's no way, I've-I've always had this condition. My mom.." she said as flashes of her mother's conversations were there. [break][break]

"She told me it was natural, there is no way. You're lying." she said openly resisting Dahlia for the first time. More memories of her mother came flooding back as well, being called a doll, slapping her, horrors that would never escape her lips again. Those memories were fakes right? Nothing more than nightmares like she had been assured over and over from mother dearest. [break][break]

"If that's true then why do I have spotty memories from even before my rocket imprisonment? That doesn't add up, you're lying. " she asked as instead of her breath calming, it spiked as the onset of a panic attack began to rear it's ugly head. She had no recollection of having one before but it felt unnaturally normal to her.

She freezes at Dahlia's use of the word us "Us?" [break][break]

"US?!" she shouts in response. [break][break]

"Like I trusted Matias?!" she says as scenes begin to flash in her head. [break][break]

"Like I trusted Emma?!" Another flash [break][break]

"Like I trusted Rowan?!" the straw that broke her. [break][break]

Her face begins to betray her emotions, as half her face is breaking into the most jubilant of smiles, veins spreading across the side of her face as the other side begins to release a stream of tears from her face. [break][break]

It was short lived as Melody covered her face with her hands. "Like I trusted you.." she says as her memories began to mix and meld. She felt like a hurricane on the inside as her breathing got heavy as fear began to overtake her. She looked up and her face was horrified as she started to believe she was back on the sub. Her eyes glossing over to the tray as she begins to relive the memories, but instead of seeing Madeleine, chu-e, and Gavin she sees only Dahlia and the horrific needle. [break][break]

From backing up far enough she felt her back press against the cold walls, the only other feeling she had was Cobalion's link with her.

No bells ring in Dahlia's memories. But alarms blare in the reality around those two. Red emergency ones of an intruder entering the space as a commotion is heard outside. [break][break]

"It MATTERS TO ME!" she shouts back at Dahlias as The door begins to pound once, then twice, and upon the third one the door breaks down as Cobalion arrived. He looks around the room, eyes scanning the area for Melody. He stomps his hoove at Dahlia, warning the woman to not get close to his partner. His Loyalty laid not with the league but Melody. "Everyone I've become friends with, everyone I've trusted or love HURTs me or betrays me. " she covers her face again as her veins pulse with the ink black liquid again. [break][break]

"Cobalion!" she shouted as she grabbed onto him tightly as her veins continued to spread. "She's gonna...she's gonna" she said between breaths as she continued to freak out, the neurotoxin whispering sweet lies in her ear, confirming her most wildest thoughts, reassuring her she was right. "Keep..keep her away." [break][break]

Cobalion was wildly confused however, the only thing he knew was true was how she was feeling. His unchanging expression showing the slightest hint of a crack on what to do. He knew that something was wrong with the girl but hoped she'd overcome it with her own power, but he knew that Melody always held Dahlia in high regard...until recently that was. What was he to do?

at the appearance of cobalion, an unwieldy phalanx of bodyguards rises. their pokemon are summoned. league standards. gardevoir, metang, a magneton or two owned by a scientist.[break][break]

the commissioner casts a hand toward them, hoping to stave off their intimidating swell. but there is little she can do to silence the whispers in melody's ear.[break][break]

"melody, please. we are here to help you." dahlia says. she faces cobalion, pleading with a frown. "you're ill, melody. we can make you feel better."
